Design Tank is a community-driven event series created by BeingUser. We started it with one simple belief: designers learn best when they share their work, get real feedback, and connect with others on the same journey.
In every edition of Design Tank, young designers come on stage to present their portfolio. They share not just the final designs, but also the problems they solved, the decisions they made, and the story behind their work. A panel of experienced design leaders then gives feedback - honest, constructive, and practical. The audience learns what works, what doesn’t, and how to communicate design more effectively.
In interviews, we noticed a common challenge: many designers struggle to present their work clearly, even if the design itself is great. Portfolios often miss storytelling, problem framing, and the “why” behind decisions. We created Design Tank to bridge that gap — to help designers practice presenting, learn from real feedback, and grow more confident.
What began as a small meetup has grown into a regular community event in Bangalore. Each episode brings together designers from different backgrounds — students, professionals, mentors, and hiring teams. We’ve had incredible mentors like - Sunit Singh, Arun Murugesan, Sameer Bellare, Sandeep Karmarkar, Ayush, Fatema Raja, Amit Singh, who generously share their time and experience. And we’ve seen presenters walk away with not just feedback, but also new connections, confidence, and sometimes even job leads.
Design Tank is run by the team at BeingUser, a design-focused hiring agency passionate about building and supporting the design community in India. We believe in human connections, honest feedback, and creating platforms where designers can learn from each other.
